S S Yongala Wreck The S S Yongala Wreck is a national historic site and lies within the beautiful Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. The artifacts, marine life and variety of corals that cover the wreck are spectacular. It’s a dive experience you will remember for the rest of your life! The S.S Yongala sank during a cyclone in 1911 with the loss of all on board. It was not until 1958 that the wreck was discovered and due to it’s remote location it has remained mostly untouched. The wreck begins 14m below the surface and extends to 28m. Since it is the only reef structure in the region, the marine life flocks to the wreck providing for an unforgettable diving experience! 2 Dives - only $179 (Includes tanks and weights, lunch, morning and afternoon tea) Gear Hire - $35
